Ciarán Moran Art

 Meet Ciarán Moran, of Ciarán Moran Art. Ciarán is one of New Ross' local community artists, whose work could be described as surrealist pop art. You may have noticed Ciarán's vibrant work throughout the town of New Ross, much of which is inspired by the heroes of the 1916 Rising, and the Founders of the Free State. His proud Irish roots are reflected in many of the murals dotted around the town.

 Ciarán first picked up a paintbrush when inspired by a piece painted by his late grandfather. His talent grew from there, but he remained a private artist for several years.

   Ciarán eventually took his art to the street of new ross, which led to his participation in a local youth project, aimed at giving kids an outlet to express themselves creatively [and legally].

When asked what first inspired him to take his art to the streets, Ciarán said "There were blank walls at the back of this place [Viking Alley], so I decided to put something there. Now, if I can inspire even one young fella, then that's reason enough."

    True to his vision, Ciarán has noticebly provided the community of new ross with art, where before there was none. He's given us vibrant murals, where before there was obnoxious graffiti. The image of the town has benifted from Ciarán's talent and his passion.

Ciarán's vision is to brighten up the town of new ross, and hopefully to inspire young people in particular. 

Whether or not you're a fan, next time you pass one of his murals hopefully you'll take a moment to appreciate his work, and be thankful for the art we all get to enjoy, in place of blank walls, and childish graffiti.
